North Oxfordshire Food Bank Donation

Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to our Food Bank drive as part of their Harvest collection. We have been supporting the North Oxfordshire Food Bank for the past few years, and they are always incredibly grateful for all the ways that we are able to help and support so many in the local community to get what they need when hard times hit.

This morning, a team of 6th Form volunteers and I went to deliver all the donations that have been made over the last month. While we were dropping off the donations, we were invited to come and see how they set-up the Food Bank to make sure that everyone who accesses gets what they need. We were shown how to collate and sort the donations given, how to layout the room, how it is determined who gets what, and how they keep track of everything throughout that process. It was really impactful to see the need that these donations meet, and to learn a bit more about what happens next with them.

It is always such a powerful testament to who we are as a school that so many people donated items to the food bank and gave up their time to help collate, sort, and deliver it all, as well as a great reminder that as a school we are not just within a wider community, but really able to contribute back into it as well.
