Year 7 Residential to Hill End
Back
On Wednesday 1st July, 174 Year 7 students scampered into the MEC—some with bags far larger than themselves, others with bags concerningly small—as they prepared for the much-awaited Year 7 Residential. Once registers were taken, we boarded the buses with eager anticipation mounting as students tucked into their Haribo.
We arrived at Hill End and began our activities with the usual Ambition, Respect, and Perseverance that Marlborough students always show. They demonstrated Respect while helping each other during team-building activities and the challenge trail, Perseverance during the 5K hike with its incredible views, and Ambition during den building and bushcraft. Over the three days, they also enjoyed a wide range of other activities, including orienteering, Ultimate Frisbee, and Capture the Flag.
Friday rolled around, and we had time for two last activities before some very tired students and even more tired teachers made their way back to school. The journey back was much quieter than the way there, with everyone beaming with pride about what they had accomplished, having made lifelong memories... and still munching on their Haribo!
Our students had a fantastic time and truly let their light shine. The residential is an incredible trip where everyone comes together, makes new friends, and genuinely strengthens the Marlborough Family.
