Transition to Year 7
To all Parents, Carers and Year 7 pupils (Class of 2025).
March 2025
I am delighted to welcome you and your child to The Marlborough School. I am really looking forward to getting to know your child during the forthcoming transition process. I will shortly be visiting all our Primary Schools to speak with the students and Year 6 teachers. This process will give me an opportunity to get to know our students and also provides a valuable open question and answer session.
We are extremely proud of our culture here at Marlborough; we know that all the older students and the staff are looking forward to welcoming our new cohort to this caring environment, where we live out our values of respect, ambition,and perseverance.
Induction Days 2025
The sessions are designed to welcome our new students, introduce them to key staff and enable them to feel confident and comfortable in their new school. The initial induction sessions will give pupils the opportunity to learn about Marlborough and ask any questions they may have. Our key objective is to help in making the move from primary to secondary school as smooth and as anxiety-free as possible - for both pupils and parents! We hope students will discover that The Marlborough School is a place where they will flourish.
The induction days are currently planned for:
Induction Day 1: Tuesday 3rd June: 9.30 - 12.15pm
Induction Day 2: Friday 20th June: 9.30 - 2.30pm
Induction Day 3: Tuesday 1st July: 8.25 - 2.30pm
If your child has any specific medical needs that we need to be aware of for the Induction Days, please ensure you let Julie Brinkworth, Transition Administrator and Lead First Aider, know on brinkworthj@themarlboroughschool.org
Unfortunately, Oxfordshire County Council have stipulated that school buses can not be used by students for the Induction Days. Therefore you will need to arrange your own transport.
We look forward to meeting you and your child over the coming weeks and welcoming you and them into our Marlborough Family. .
