The Year 9 Duke of Edinburgh (D of E) volunteers worked really hard this year to pack 50 shoe boxes with toys, toiletries and stationery items for children in Romania. These children were unlikely to receive any Christmas gifts without these boxes.

 

The D of E volunteers were overwhelmed by the generosity of Marlborough students, with every tutor group contributing to the appeal. Their excitement when packing the shoe boxes was lovely to watch as they ensured each box contained a pencil case, full of school supplies, and a wash bag, holding a variety of products, as these were the basics that they felt each child should receive. They ensured all boxes also contained a Christmas card with a personal message from The Marlborough School wishing the child a Merry Christmas.
