Christmas Shoebox Appeal
Back
The Year 9 Duke of Edinburgh volunteering group have been hard at work organising our annual Christmas Shoebox Appeal. This year, they once again chose to support the Rotary Shoebox Appeal, which has been running for an incredible 30 years and has delivered more than one million boxes during that time.
Our Year 9 students prepared an assembly for the whole school, sharing what items they had chosen to donate and inviting each tutor group to pack one or two boxes of their own. The response was truly extraordinary—an inspiring, whole-school effort. Year 9 students collected the donations and, with the help of some fantastic Sixth Form volunteers, carefully checked each box to make sure it contained everything intended and was correctly labelled and ready to send.
Throughout the entire process, we were genuinely impressed by the commitment and dedication shown by our students. Their teamwork, organisation, and leadership skills were outstanding.
